Great Hotel. Great Location.
Ananatara Siam Bangkok Hotel (formerly The Four Seasons) carries on delivering with great services and amenties. Food good. Service good. The location good also. This is a nice part of town, near the embassies and Lumphini Park, but only one stop on the Skytrain to the main shopping area of Siam Square.
The hotel is opulently decorated in Thai style. The grand lobby is impressive - one of the finest examples of hotel theatre you will find anywhere in the world. We love the hints of art-deco design, such as the light fittings, combined with the more traditional elements of Thai architecture. Although to our mind the hand painted silks on the ceilings lean slightly towards the kitsch. Artistic opinions aside, this is a place where guests can have a great time. The best shopping is nearby, and when you tire of this then retreat to the spa, the 24 hour gym, or the large pool, before drinks in one of the three bars and then dinner in one of four restaurants. If you come here on business this is a great place to leave the wife/secretary/toyboy (delete as necessary) to entertain themselves while you slave away on making your next million.
There are 10 choices of accommodation on offer, from the 40 sqm Superior Room to the 364 sqm Rajadamri Suite. All five types of suite feature a separate living area. We particularly like the Cabana rooms and suites. What you get is a room by the pool with an outside terrace area for dining. Nifty idea, and one which is reminiscent of resorts on the coast.
